Poetry is a particular genre and art form. For centuries already it is a fruitful source of inspiration for the visual arts. Furthermore, for many centuries poetry has offered reaction to and reflecion on art works, which are then put in a new light. Word and image compliment and reinforce each other. Thoman Möhlmann is interested in the idea that and the way how visual art can be the starting point and inspiration for new poems. As curator of The Catch, Möhlmann invites different poets to respond to projects at Nieuw Dakota. The poet is asked to write a poem inspired by a specific exhibition. At the finissage the poet presents his new written work.
